Now that Barack Obama is officially the pre-presumptive Democratic nominee, he’s going to have to decide what to do about “punishing” Florida and Michigan for moving their primaries too close to the sacred lead spots held by Iowa and New Hampshire.

In Florida yesterday, he floated this idea:

Delving deeper into Florida’s Democratic delegate debacle than he ever has to date, Sen. Barack Obama said Wednesday that “a very reasonable solution” would be to count Florida’s disputed primary votes and cut the state’s delegation to the convention in half.

That may be a bit too Solomonic. Cutting the baby in half risks making everybody involved half unhappy. Obama has misjudged the mood among “average Floridians” about this issue:

The Illinois senator, just shy of securing the nomination, stressed that he intends to win Florida and doubted the controversy over Florida’s primary would cause any serious damage to his prospects.

“I don’t think that the average Floridian is spending all their time thinking about this,” he said, as his campaign bus cruised from Tampa to Kissimmee.

“I think what they’re thinking about is $4-per-gallon gas. I think what they’re thinking about is ‘my health care premiums have gone up 25 percent and my deductibles have gone up and I’m trying to hang on to the health care that I’ve got.”’

We are going to need all the happy Democrats in Florida we can muster in November. Since Obama will win the delegate count even if Clinton gets her larger shares in Florida and Michigan, he should countermand mean Dr. Dean and seat both delegations.

Why are the Media Still Making Excuses for McCain's Negativity?
McCain knows exactly what he's doing. He hired Karl Rove's acolytes to turn McCain's campaign into exactly the insulting mess we see today.

This is not Obama's Mess

Somehow the authors imply that Obama is responsible for this mess.

May I remind the disgruntled that the Republican legislature in Florida voted to schedule the primary early in defiance of the Democratic Committee rules, knowing that it would cause a problem.

The DNC, not Obama, punished Florida and Michigan for scheduling their primaries early. The punishment was; not to seat the Delegations, or count the votes.

All the candidates, including MYWAY CLINTON, agreed to the punishment. At the time, she thought to have the nomination by Super Tuesday, and that those voters wouldn't count.

Now she is trying to ignore her earlier position, because she needs those Delegates and popular votes to steal the nomination or force her way onto the Presidential Ticket. She and her supporters keep resurrecting this issue, despite the rules.

The media tends to imply that Obama is the one disenfranchising
all those voters, when it is the Clintons trying to jerk everyone around for personal gain.

Doesn't this penchant for the unethical scare anyone, but me?

I say don't count either delegation. The "leadership" of our state parties fucked up, and it's on us Dems in each state to punish them accordingly. You let the Florida & Michigan delegations get away with it, and you'd better get ready for some state to have a Halloween 2011 primary for the 2012 nomination.

They Rigged the 'Date Cahnge' to be an Ace in her Pocket. Then got the Media here to perpetuate the Mantra .."Clinton the ONLY Dem on the Ballots'- who except those who are Prim 'junkies' would have known this was a LIE! then 'scramble the names on the top spot of the Ballot and feed into Pre programmed SCAMtrons which read votes in alphabetical Order ...as follows Clinton, Dodd, Gravel, Kucinch and Uncommitted.Mine Read Kucinich first (my vote) so was it read as a vote for Hillary..My immediate feeling when feeding my ballot into the machine YES!
