Fox News' very own anchors are speaking out -- and walking off -- over what they perceive to be "Obama-bashing" on their network.

This morning on "Fox and Friends," Brian Kilmeade walked off the set after a dispute with his co-hosts Gretchen Carlson (she who celebrates deadly floods) and Steve Doocy over Obama's comment that his grandmother is a "typical white person." Kilmeade argued that the remark needed to be taken in context and eventually got so fed up with his co-hosts that he walked off set.

Later, "Fox News Sunday" host Chris Wallace came on the show and railed against "Fox and Friends" for what he called "Obama-bashing."

"fair and balanced" Fox "News" is having a discussion about race, while everyone involved in the discussion is white?

If Fox "News" was truly "fair and balanced", wouldn't they make an effort to include black, Asian, Latino and native American folks in the discussion?

Just asking...

Shame on the media who wander from the heart of what Obama was saying. They trivialize and attempt to twist an astute message from a good and capable person, and diminish their own worth in the process. Typical white folks? You bet.

The Fox News yahoos kept bringing out their one-pony show of a double-standard when it comes to "typical white/black people," and Chris Wallace was sharp enough to point out: so? Let's face it, white America, our national self-image is white. White people do most the talking, and most often about other white people.

If a white person, like Hillary Clinton, says "typical black person," it isn't offensive as much as naive. We don't really know what Black America is like, as Bill O'Reilly and so many white public figures have shown and even said. What we know all to well is white America. Saying "typical black person" is naive because most white people ain't got enough of a clue about what black culture is like to typify it; all they are typifying is their prejudices. When Obama says "typical white person" he's speaking to our more common experience, out of which we can typify and generalize with relative accuracy.

This is the difference between completely valid generalization and invalid prejudicing.

Yes, Fox is vile, as we all know.

It appears from the clip, however, that the anchor walked off as a joke. Listen to what he was asked: If I called you a typical sports guy, would you walk off?

He responded "yes" to the question by walking off.

"Murdoch fund-raiser for Clinton creates buzz
Outrage, confusion in political circles over media mogul’s decision" - Fri., May. 12, 2006

"Especially incensed are liberal activists, who for months have decried what they see as a shift to a right on Clinton’s part as the Democrat contemplates a run for president in 2008. They are stunned that she is associating with a man viewed as a cornerstone of the “vast right-wing conspiracy,” a term Clinton herself employed.

“Hillary, help us. Who the hell are you?” thundered Washington Post columnist Richard Cohen."

Ahh, FOX News. How I do loathe thee.

Obama speaks brilliantly for about 37 minutes and all they have the ability to digest and respond to are three little words.

These anchors are as intellectually lazy and impaired as their regular viewers.

One expects that had MLK made his "I Have A Dream" speech today, FOXNews anchors would only discuss whether King ever really went mountain climbing.

Now if a typical white A-hole employed by Fox edits this correctly, it would be easy to "prove" that I am calling all whites bigots, when, in fact, I am white myself. The first time I ever saw those jerks (except Wallace) was watching that clip.

When Chris Wallace is the voice of reason, you couldn't be in more trouble.

Fox News is running this whole issue into the ground. What do they think they are accomplishing by playing Rev wRight's clip thirty times a day and verbally lashing Barack Obama at every opportunity? Their comments about Obama are libelous. They go way beyond just bitter political criticism. Fox News is only one step away from being the nation's White Nationalists News Network. Fox News might as well go ahead and refer to Barack Obama as "that damned half bred Nigger" from now on until they reach their objective. Screw Faux News.

Lord of the Flies at Fox News

Fox News is run by children who continually betray their fears, paranoia, and spoiled selfishness. They have developed no tragic conscience, which is the hallmark of adulthood, and they speak in the most reductive vocabulary of the most sophomoric of concerns.

But it works, because America is an island of children who have never come to terms with their tragic history. America is a nation of talking heads who imitate the form of political discourse they see on corporate media. It is an endless and echoing chattering of the herd: scared children run amok across our airwaves and into our homes, between family members, neighbors, and friends.

"Oh God, another liberal American who hates America! Just about every country has a tragic past, and most people know that. The problem with you liberals is that you like to harp on our past tragedies ad nauseum! It seems to me that it's the liberal of this country who haven't come to terms with our country's tragic past, because you liberals are the one’s who bring up our tragedies from the past in almost every discussion you have! Just because America has some tragedies in its past doesn't mean that it's still not the best country in the world."

I'll bite on this remark because there really is some to truth to this. First of all, I'm a proud liberal and I have been all my life. However, I don't think the topic of discussing America's tragedies from the past is really a liberal versus conservative issue. I think in the collective American conscience there are certain tragedies from past that we as a nation have not come to terms with. Conversely, I also think that there are some tragedies from America's past that we as a nation have done a better job coming to terms with. However, I will agree that the majority of the posts on the Internet about American tragedies from our past are from liberals. I will also say that in almost every political discussion I have with my liberal friends the tragedies of America's past comes up during the discussion. The one major fault I find with a lot of my liberal friends is that they tend to be very pessimistic people, whereas I tend to be an optimist.

The Robin Williams Plan
Posted by: mindtrvlr on Mar 22, 2008 3:51 PM
Current rating: 5    [1 = poor; 5 = excellent]
The Plan!
?

Robin Williams, wearing a shirt that says 'I love New York ' in Arabic.

You gotta love Robin Williams......Even if he's nuts! Leave it to Robin Williams to come up with the perfect plan. What we need now is for our UN Ambassador to stand up and repeat this message.

Robin Williams' plan...(Hard to argue with this logic!)

'I see a lot of people yelling for peace but I have not heard of a plan for peace. So, here's one plan.'

1) 'The US will apologize to the world for our 'interference' in their affairs, past & present. You know, Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, Tojo, Noriega, Milosevic, Hussein, and the rest of those 'good 'ole' boys', we will never 'interfere' again.

2) We will withdraw our troops from all over the world, starting with Germany , South Korea , the Middle East , and the Philippines . They don't want us there. We would station troops at our borders. No one allowed sneaking through holes in the fence.

3) All illegal aliens have 90 days to get their affairs together and leave We'll give them a free trip ho me. After 90 days the remainder will be gathered up and deported immediately, regardless of whom or where they are. They're illegal!!! France will welcome them.

4) All future visitors will be thoroughly checked and limited to 90 days unless given a special permit!!!! No one from a terrorist nation will be allowed in. If you don't like it there, change it yourself and don't hide here. Asylum would never be available to anyone. We don't need any more cab drivers or 7-11 cashiers.

5) No foreign 'students' ove r age 21. The older ones are the bombers. If they don't attend classes, they get a 'D' and it's back home baby.

6) The US will make a strong effort to become self-sufficient energy wise. This will include developing nonpolluting sources of energy but will require a temporary drilling of oil in the Alaskan wilderness. The caribou will have to cope for a while

7) Offer Saudi Arabia and other oil producing countries $10 a barrel for their oil. If they don't like it, we go someplace else. They can go somewhere else to sell their production. (About a week of the wells filling up the storage sites would be enough.)

8) If there is a famine or other natural catastrophe in the world, we will not 'interfere.' They can pray to Allah or whomever, for seeds, rain, cement or whatever they need. Besides most of what we give them is stolen or given to the army. The people who need it most get very little, if anything.

9) Ship the UN Headquarters to an isolated island someplace. We don't need the spies and fair weather friends here. Besides, the building would make a good homeless shelter or lockup for illegal aliens.

10) All Americans must go to charm and beauty school. That way, no one can call us 'Ugly Americans' any longer. The Language we speak is ENGLISH..learn it...or LEAVE...Now, isn't that a winner of a plan?

'The Statue of Liberty is no longer saying 'Give me your tired, your poor, your huddle d masses. ' She's got a baseball bat and she's yelling, 'you want a piece of me?' '

If you agree with the above forward it to friends...If not, and I would be amazed, DELETE it!!

C-SPAN had two foreign journalists as guests this morning, one from England and the other from Argentina. Both have good circulation outside the USA and said there is enormous interest in their readership over the coming presidential election. The world is watching, they both agreed, to see if the US voters have the maturity to elect a president who has offered to sit down with other world leaders and have a genuine conversation.

I don't know if this is the same person or not. I know of a husband and wife on a similar website who make posts on the same computer under the same user name, but they use different names in the title. The funny thing is one is a conservative and one is a liberal. Anyway, I’ll address what’s written here. I can see the logic in saying that because liberals tend to harp on America's past tragedies a lot more then conservatives, they would seem more to be the one's who haven't come to terms with them. However, many conservatives seem to be unwilling to even bring up the subject of certain tragedies from our past.

I'm curious Moose Indian, what is your definition "of coming to terms with America's past tragedies?" I'm mean there's absolutely nothing you can do to change the past, so what should "coming to terms" with America's past tragedies look like to you?

I'm a woman, and if I was walking alone down a sidewalk on a side street in NYC at night I would be very nervous if I saw a group of black men walking towards me from the opposite direction. I would be nervous if I saw a group of white men as well. I'm not racist, but a hypothetical situation like that has nothing to do with racism does it? It has everything to do with the legitimate fear of crime in this country.
