Huckabee Equates Homosexuality With Bestiality

Posted by Howie Klein, Down With Tyranny! at 12:09 PM on January 17, 2008.

Also, Huckabee did the gigantic flip flop and jumped on the largely discredited Tancredo "send all illegal immigrants home" bandwagon.

UPDATE: Huckabee Channels Man-on-Dog Santorum

In an interview with Beliefnet.com, a religion Web site, Huck has just clarified his view that the Constitution should be amended to be brought in line with God's will -- and he directly equated homosexuality with bestiality.

Huck, in elaborating on his views that the Constitution should be subjected to Biblical standards, had just wrapped up a discussion of the fact that marriage has meant "a man and a woman in a relationship for life." With this context firmly established, this exchange followed:

QUESTIONER: Is it your goal to bring the Constitution into strict conformity with the Bible? Some people would consider that a kind of dangerous undertaking, particularly given the variety of biblical interpretations.

HUCKABEE: Well, I don't think that's a radical view to say we're going to affirm marriage. I think the radical view is to say that we're going to change the definition of marriage so that it can mean two men, two women, a man and three women, a man and a child, a man and animal. Again, once we change the definition, the door is open to change it again. I think the radical position is to make a change in what's been historic.

****

There are a lot of reasons why Mike Huckabee has been getting miserable notices on the campaign trail-- not just from Democrats, but from Republicans as well. Many Republicans dislike him because of his quasi-populist policies. "Is this a Republican or some kind of John Edwards wanna be?" one GOP Insider fumed a few days ago. John Edwards he's not. But he does try to address concerns of some Americans who are not making 6 figure annual incomes. That's odd for a Republican. Unfortunately, he doesn't address them from an informed or even a helpful perspective.

A few days ago he blurted out what everyone has been waiting for him to say-- that we should make the Constitution conform to God's will. That's like Sharia law and it is certainly not what a consensus of Americans want, not even Republican Americans (at least not Republicans outside of the most backward of Deep South precincts). The Huckster tried laughing it off when he got called on it and said he just meant he was anti-gay, not like he really wanted everyone to have to pay tithes. Oh... whew; let me change my party registration.

Today the Moonie Times reports that Huckabee, whose nomination chances has been badly hurt because of his moderately pro-immigrant policies while he was governor of Arkansas, did the gigantic flip flop and jumped on the moribund and rotted-out, largely discredited Tancredo bandwagon: SEND ALL ILLEGAL ALIENS HOME.

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee yesterday continued to move to the right on immigration during this year's presidential campaign, signing a pledge to enforce immigration laws and to make all illegal aliens go home.

The pledge, offered by immigration control advocacy group Numbers USA, commits Mr. Huckabee to oppose a new path to citizenship for current illegal aliens and to cut the number of illegal aliens already in the country through attrition by law enforcement-- something Mr. Huckabee said he will achieve through his nine-point immigration plan.

The Huckster calls his plan "fair and reasonable." It makes me ashamed that a supposedly mainstream American politician who has gone as far as Huckabee-- after all, he was a governor-- would pander so blatantly to divisiveness, raw and hatred and fear and political expediency to dig up a few more votes in the state that started the Civil War. This is part of Huckabee's war against McCain-- but it is also about the lives and well-being of millions of our friends and neighbors. Huckabee and the Republican party should be ashamed. They're not and they won't be.

Huckabee may believe that marriage shouldn't between a man and another man, a man and a donkey, two women, a man and a refrigerator, etc.
But it is too bad his parents did believe that marriage IS between a man and his sister!

Moron. Sometimes he even looks dumb for a Republican.

While people continue to die in Iraq and Afganistan and this is what people talk about? Our country is being bought up by foreigners and I'm supposed to worry about Huck and barnyard animals? It's embarassing. This is the most important election in the history of this country. It appears that very few people know what's going on if the is all they can find to talk about. Everybody is afraid of the real stuff. Thanks, ANNA

What can you expect from a guy who missed half the lectures in Biology 101? A guy who thinks our species was placed on the planet by the Tooth Fairy, the Easter Bunny, or Santa Claus? Who thinks we're only 5 to 6 thousand years old? Who thinks that Man once walked with dinosaurs? This man is a Dangerous Lunatic.

The only difference between Gomer Shuckabee and an ayatollah is that Gomer eats pork. Put a goofus like Gomer in the White House and he'll have women stoned for adultery, have homosexuals beheaded, have the hands of surgeons who perform abortions chopped off. Gomer lives in the Dark Ages. He probably thinks the earth is flat and that the planets revolve around it.

I can see it now: Pat Robber's son will be the new Secretary of State. Richard Land will be Secretary of Religious Activities. Timothy LaHaye will be Secretary of Eschatology and Preparation for the Rapture. James Dobson will be Secretary of Ecclesiastical Propaganda. Anyone caught playing hookie from Bible School after manditory church on Sundays will be sent to a work camp. Anyone adjudged an atheist will be "reoriented" with mind-control techniques.

A vote for Gomer Shuckabee is a vote for Jeebus! What would Jeebus do? He'd vote for Gomer!

Reverend StrangeLove on the Election Trail..., or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Denying Constitutional Rights to Millions.

Despite his stated opposition to "unconventional" sex, Rev. Huckabee seems to have a predilection towards anal self penetration with his head. It would explain his moral decisions and political statements that emanate from a very dark and odorous environment.

It's difficult, if not impossible, for the secular minded to entertain the political logic of the Huckster's theocratical mindset in such stark contrast to his Constitutional responsibilities. But he seems immune to understanding the ineffectiveness of crafting a free society by restricting the Constitutional rights of a substantial percentage of it's citizens. Whatever is he thinking?

Now he wants Americans to think that evicting 11 or so million working immigrants has political, social or economic viability to the country? I'd really like to see the calculus on that detailed.

Maybe it's in the new jobs coming in staffing the newly constructed, half billion dollar Halliburton Gullag that Christian America has so wisely invested in.

Mike Hukabee, making the affable laughable and a mockery of democracy.

Huckabee looks more and more like an idiot the further he goes in his campaign.
Having said that,I know that it would be ridiculous to round up all illegal aliens and ship them back home.I do think that it is awful that they could be given some sort of immunity. This would be a disservice to the many people that have come to this country and done what they were supposed to do to become citizens.I don't like the fact that so many come to this country and set up enclaves where they try to make it just like home. Why leave in the first place.
I have a friend whose grandparents came here from Poland before WWII.When we were kids I used to listen to their stories about coming here and that they couldn't wait to learn the language and norms of American society and become "American".
In my hometown there recently was a tragedy that involved a van in which six Mexican men riding. They crossed a railroad track and were hit by a train. All six were killed instantly. The hew and cry afterward was all about how street signs and railroad crossing signs should also be written in Spanish. That's bullshit.I'm all for people wanting to come here and make a better life for themselves and a better future for their children.I just believe that if you are going to do that, you should learn the language and learn how things are done in America.
Medical students at the University of Alabama Birmingham are now required to take Spanish. That is ridiculous. As long as that is the case immigrants should be required to learn English. At least then people could meet somewhere in the middle.
I'm a safety manager for an industrial construction company. Most of the ironworkers on site are Hispanic and a good bit don't speak English. This in itself can be a safety hazard because of the lack of communication.I have been learning Spanish for the last six months. As these guys have seen me trying to learn their language, they have been trying to learn mine.Communication has gotten a little better but there is still a gap.
I know that some of the guys working on site are probably not here legally, but these guys are some of the hardest working men I have ever been around.
There is no easy answer to how this issue should be handled.I'm torn about it. I do think that that our laws should be strengthened and enforced so that people coming in the future are required to go about things correctly.I just don't know how the illegal immigrants here now should be dealt with.
As for gays....
Man, it takes all kinds to make the world what it is. I think that there are many straight couples out there that could take a lesson from many gay couples as to fidelity and commitment. I used to live in Atlanta,Ga. where there is a vibrant gay community.I know that there is a large party element there but that is present in all walks of life.Go to any frat row at any university and you'll see that. A large part of the gay community in Atlanta, though, are work-a-day people that have the same trials and tribulations as everyone else. They have to sit in the same traffic, pay bills for the same shit, feed their pets, and pay out the ass for the same gasoline. I just don't see why they can't enjoy the same rights as everybody else.

Maybe his father went out with a male jackass once, and he was miraculously conceived and excreted out, nine months later.

At least, that's probaby the story his mother told him all these years. I think Barbara Bush has a similar one, although it involves her and a jackal.

He may well know exactly what he's talking about here.

I couldn't care less about what people think of me. I'm mature enough to realize I'm not responsible for what people think, only for what I am. This doesn't work for international politics, however. These days, other countries ARE our neighbors, and it IS important to us how they regard our behavior. How do you think they regard the losers calling themselves republican presidential aspirants and their goofy outlook on life? I'll bet they think we've gone bonkers here, and they may be right.
