Palin's Attacks Get Desperate in Final Day

With one day to go until the election's conclusion, Sarah Palin has really ramped up her rhetoric, suggesting during a stop on Monday that Barack Obama thought terrorists were "the good guys."

"What do they think?" she declared at one point. "Do they think the terrorists have all the sudden become the good guys and changed their minds? No, the terrorists still seek to destroy America and her allies and all that it is that we stand for: freedom, tolerance, and equality. The terrorists have not changed their minds."

The comments, delivered to a crowd in Jefferson City, Missouri, are the latest in the slash-and-burn rhetoric from the Alaska Governor. Earlier in her address -- which seemed clearly non-scripted -- she accused Obama of wanting to drastically slash the defense budget during a time of war.

There is a particular poignancy to the terrorism card being played at this juncture. The country's reaction to 9/11 has defined the last three congressional elections. But it was the 2004 presidential contest in which the candidates were judged most scrupulously on their commander-in-chief mettle. Voters have moved on, clearly, from '04. But that doesn't necessarily mean that terrorism isn't a divisive electoral issue. It is just that the discussion is no longer weighed down by simplicity. Accusing Obama of coddling up to terrorists or wanting to slash the defense budget hasn't had its desired affects. In a recent ABC poll, 49 percent of voters said they trusted McCain best to handle the issue of terrorism, only two percentage points more than Obama.

The sooner she's out of the spotlight, the better for all of us!

She's a vile, loathsome, disgusting, utterly offensive, contemptible wretch! With lipstick!

Oh! I cannot wait for this all to be over!

Don't mistake uninhibited with desperate

People like Palin don't get desperate. They're practiced at creating fairylands. She'll probably go home thinking evil is challenging her to submit to the dark side and she'll come back in 2012 re-energized and ready to take on the devil himself. No amount of reason is going to shake her faith no matter how many people die or are hurt. She's not desperate, she's just getting loosened up. If it seems she's nearing her physical demise, she may not have 40 virgins to look forward to, but she'll think she's about to enter heaven.

Ambiguity

Okay, I give up: What are "Barack Obama thought terrorists"?

It would be so easy, and incomparably better, to write about Palin's "suggesting on Monday that Barack Obama thinks terrorists are 'the good guys'."

Clarity is everything at moments like these -- as our Republican counterexamples of cobbled grammar have demonstrated amply. (Two or even three half-sentences don't make a whole, and it's no clearer to follow "I couldn't agree with them more ... I couldn't disagree with you more" by repeating the word patriotic because one's empty head can't think of anything else, staring in all directions at "Country First" -- though I must admit it was an applause line by the time he'd hawked it out.)

Otherwise, I certainly agree about the desperation. Now they've resorted again to Jeremiah Wright -- and for the first time, I've heard the Publicans use the word radical in this go-around, though I admit my attention has wandered.

She spews lies and acts the Terrorist albeit I'm a Vet, now VFP, but her with the shit, "My son is over there and guess what Sen. Obama is cutting first? The military by 25% so he can use it to pay for the things HE wants." 25% is a normal cut because DoD and DoJ always ask for way MUCH, if all the contractors protecting the stars and bars crowd were fired they'd have that cut and more. Always with "Lose the war in Iraq", why Sarah I know you must have never read the Constitution or you would know it is NOT A WAR. It is absent a Declaration of War from Congress, Article.I.Section.8., cl11. Then she was stating, well shrieking about the Press says something and she runs with it she is allowed to bother them and mix it up and expound[my word, her verbiage, she says verbage, ergo she wouldn't use that word because she isn't aware it exists, book banner and such]upon it to do her Terrorizing of the dumbed down fearful FOX watching WHITE crowds, Obama is a Socialist, Marxist whichever she decides to throw her venom about that day, but she should read Amendment I., "abridging the freedom of speech, or of the PRESS;", numb nuts she is.
Now they are showing the Rev. Wright ads again so he is also, "too radical, too risky".

You assist an evil system most effectively by obeying its orders and decrees.
An evil system never deserves such allegiance.
Allegiance to it means partaking of the evil.
A good person will resist an evil system with his or her whole soul.

The greatness of a nation can be judged by the way its animals are treated.

Mohandas Gandhi

Both are Mohandas Gandhi. Palin is not a hunter, she is an aerial rifleman that aits aloft in a chopper shoots and murders wolves and bear for sport to watch as they die a slow painful death, so Mohandas was correct in both cases.
She is an idiot, a sociopath and as a child of the 50's and 60's, knowing of McCarthy and his "You are a Communist, why?, because I say." the assassinations I witnessed on live TV, JFK, RFK and the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King,Jr. If anything happens to Senator Obama I blame her directly.

Someone need to remind Sarah

that Saddam Hussein and Osma Bin Laden used to be referred by Ronald Reagan as "Freedom Fighter's" the GOP "Greed & Oppression Party" have re-labeled "Terrorist's".

That the War Of Terror Crusade is based on lies and deceit wasting trillions, with billions unaccounted for and millions of innocent killed. Afghanistan had nothing to do with 9/11 and the FBI have no warrant out for Osma Bin Laden.

That there is no General Jesus leading the charge out to kick some Islam booty.

What else should I expect from self-professed "Christians who admire the wife & political party swappin B rated senile sap Ronald Reagan, His "Voodoo Economics" Bu$h I who bailed out of his plane in WWII while killing his co-passenger, that supplied Saddam Hussein with weapons 6 months before Desert Storm I, and the drunk driving conviction of the Bu$h II, AWOL/Deserter, inside-trader, not disclosing the last time he's done cocaine, along with Buckshot Dick 5 time Vietnam deferred coward who has multiple drunk driving convictions too.

Those "Promise Keeper" males who want to "Field Dress" Palin that became pregnant before marriage, with her daughter following in her footsteps, slashing Alaska state unwed teen mother and special needs children programs.

Just how tight can she be traipsing around in her new $150,000 wardrobe.

Putting the village of Wasilla over $20 million in debt, hired a city manager to do her job, buying a SUV so she can do municipal and personal errands, while charging the highest per-deim expenses to reside in her own home.

Taking her family on un-invited state business and then billing the state for their expenses.

Who was for the Bridge-to-Nowhere before she was against it, along with her Pipeline-to-Nowhere fiasco that the oil companies have not signed on to supplying Natural Gas, instead wanting to build their own pipeline through Canada instead.

While she kills "God's" creatures with a automatic weapon from an aerial platform, posing in her fake tan-bed complexion that Alaska citizens had to pay for the electrical upgrade for.

Yet mentally-challenged Americans will cave into the fear factor being generated by Caribou Barbie and strike a vote for McCain who graduated nearly last from the Naval Academy, killing 134 US soldiers while wet-starting his jet, not follow bombing procedure and getting shot down over Hanoi. Trading military information for cigarettes.

With multiple marriage infidelities, a part of the Keating 5 S & L scandle, and decades of allegiance to the Washington "Elite".

What "Mavericks!

freedom, tolerance, and equality - not for all

"No, the terrorists still seek to destroy America and her allies and all that it is that we stand for: freedom, tolerance, and equality."

Hmm, ok... let's try to parse this. The "destroy America and her allies" seems to refer to U.S. and Israel, perhaps U.K. too, but not much more than that.

So the "freedom, tolerance, and equality" she mentions probably refer, for example, to:
(a) the freedom enjoyed by American, Israeli and British citizens from unreasonable government intrusion in private aspects of their lives, like phone call/email surveillance, or interference in personal decisions about reproduction, lifestyle, right-to-die, etc;
(b) the tolerance and fairness shown by current and past representatives of those same governments towards people of ethnicities and/or religious beliefs that differ from what they consider as mainstream and desirable;
(c) the equality enjoyed by minorities of all kinds - ethnic, religious, sexual and otherwise - in those societies.

Nah... I guess somebody just edited out part of the speech, because the sound bit really should go like "freedom, tolerance, and equality... for all rich, white, heterosexual republican christian Americans and their friends".

The futile waste of American interference anyway . . .

Of the 30 or more countries the USA has independently invaded, bombed, attacked, undermined or sponsored guerilla groups to fight against the existing people in power, very few (if any?) have become true functioning democracies.

And in most of them conditions have actually WORSENED after American interference, Sarah Palin.
So just BUTT OUT anyway. What you're too dim to realise is America invades for American profit - NEVER for genuine goodwill reasons.
NEVER.

Powerful, crooked Americans sacrifice the people of those poor countries and their money, plus the lives of poor Americans and taxpayers' money to increase their profit and power, while selling guns to both sides.

And no-one is better off for it - not even America itself.

Everyone has great comments, here, but the sad truth is that we must ask ourselves how we (and the RNC) have allowed ourelves to sink so low on the 21rst century?

She will fit perfectly well with the contemptible squad of vermin at Fox Newsfixers Channel. She says anything it takes whether utterly false or deceptive as a way to dupe a crowd of ignorant, irrational buffoons and delights at their reponsive cries of lynch him, kill him, off with his head when she rants in her ear-splitting, shrieking voice against Obama. It will come as no surprise soon to find her on the programming at Fox either on the fone as a guest or perhaps assigned a place at the anchor desk of Cavuto the Clown.

The only thing missing in her campaign appearances were her religious spasms of speaking in tongues. It would have brought the pentecostal evangelicals close to orgasms.
