"I have a temper, to state the obvious, which I have tried to control with varying degrees of success because it does not always serve my interest or the public's." - John McCain

During last night's debate, John McCain said we need "a cool hand at the tiller," but McCain has proven to be a loose cannon. He has accosted his Congressional colleagues on both sides of the aisle on everything from the federal budget to diplomatic relations. He is known for hurling profanities rather than settling disagreements calmly. His belligerence is legendary. Even conservative Senator Thad Cochran of Mississippi has said, "He is erratic. He is hotheaded. He loses his temper and he worries me."

When someone earns the nickname "Senator Hothead," the public ought to call his character into question. McCain's propensity to explode undermines his abilities as a rational decision maker, particularly on national security issues -- which could prove disastrous considering our country is already involved in two wars.

With the election less than four weeks away, here's a chance for you to take concrete action:
  1. Alert your friends to McCain's rage. Send them this video and ask them to pass it on.
  2. Post this video on all your blogs and networking sites like Digg -- critical tools for reaching those outside the choir. Make sure it gets viewed so many times it ends up on YouTube's homepage, so undecided swing state voters can see it easily.
  3. Get the latest on McCain with a free video subscription from Brave New PAC, and encourage others to sign up too.

McCain's temper is critical to his decision-making abilities, and his character must be discussed. As Drew Westen writes, "The political brain is an emotional brain. It is not a dispassionate calculating machine, objectively searching for the right facts, figures and policies to make a reasoned decision." That why it's so crucial people know the real Senator Hothead.

Not a matter of Temperment, but Mental Stabiity and Malice

No doubt John McCain has a Serious personality disorder. Not only does he reveal his Delusions of Granduer (MY SURGE!), but of Projections of negative aspects of himself on Others...WHO's attached at the Hip to the Fannie Mae melt down..Rick Davis thus John McCain.WHO provided Aid & Comfort to the '80's 'Afghani Freedom Fighter' aka Bin Laden. Hell with Phil Gramm on his right shoulder Mac is in the middle of the entire financial Meltdown again AND the Oil Crisis! And what seems to be the epicenter of both these National Security Issues..Iraq (10 billion a month and Oil Rights for corps-here & in Iraq).
What also seems to be 'eating' John McCain is the latent effects of head injuries (not from torture, but from the Crash). Recent research indicated that many Serial/ mass Murders had sustained head injuries earlier in life. Easy indicator of a head injury- One eye has a Droop.
Of course that could be related to what appears to be a CVA. His Duel Arm movements at the beginning of this year, his unsteady gait, His forgetfulness and confusion.. all could be attributed to what is commonly refered to as a STROKE. Although it seems his Rehab team has done a pretty good job- considering what they had to work with physically to begin with.
Then again physical injuries also 'mature ' with age - so what appears CVA induced body mechanics may be nothing more than Deterioration. but it does not explain his inablity to maintain linear thoughts, retain current information, or control his impulses (Temper). Those are features often found also in Forms of Dementia, aka Alzheimers.
So to me, an italian,Scotch Irish descendent..Temperment is not the issue, it is what is Stoking that temperment NOW.
He may not be just a SOB, he could be a CRAZY SOB!

I don't defend McCain's policies, except maybe his stance on torture, because he was a POW, tortured himself. When he gets angry, what we're probably seeing is the psychological remnants of that experience. Or, that he's a petulant spoiled rich person.

Either way, to point out his anger problems and make issue of it is sleazy campaign tactics, like the ones McCain/Palin use daily against Obama. I know many people believe fight fire with fire. I don't...but it reveals something about american politics that we should all take notice of: that the issues don't matter!

Personally, I think we should talk about the very revealing responses to an email question at the debate that went something like this: Do you think health care is a commodity, responsibility or a right?

McCain's answer was no surprise. He said it was a responsibility, then went on to give us a non-explanation of what that means.

Obama correctly answered "Right" except he went on to talk about his plan that props up insurance companies and requires that parents purchase (affordable?) health insurance for their children.

Free speech is a right. Owning guns is a right. Press, religion, assembly, etc...RIGHTS. None of these cost americans anything, or rather we all share the cost of these rights. But paying health insurance companies billions in profits for our health, or leaving millions without coverage is not an example of a right. It's business as usual.

So I would conclude that if healthcare is a right, it should not cost anything, or at least all americans should share the costs, especially big corporations. We need a government run single payer system, then it will be guaranteed and a right.

These are the issues we should be discussing. But, alas, the two party dictatorship has other plans. That's why we should make our votes protest votes. Vote Green. Vote Nader. Then, your economic, social and civil rights will be protected.

peace
