Newsweek's Fineman: Both Campaigns Believe It's "Virtually Impossible" for Clinton to Win Most Delegates [VIDEO]

Posted by Adam Howard, AlterNet at 6:57 AM on February 13, 2008.

Which means, the best scenario for Clinton is for her to keep it close and hope that her super delegate advantage makes the difference.

Last night, during MSNBC's campaign coverage, Newsweek's Howard Fineman told Keith Olbermann that he's spoken to anonymous sources in both the Clinton and Obama campaigns and apparently both believe that it's "virtually impossible" for Hillary to beat Obama in pledged delegates (especially after last night's three blowout victories for Obama in DC, Maryland and Virginia). Which means, the best scenario Clinton can hope for is to keep it close and hope that her superdelegate advantage makes the difference. I think that's a very risky strategy. And as we reported yesterday, Democratic superdelegates definitely do not want to appear to be reversing the decision of the primary voters, whatever that may be. Check out the video to your right for more.

So, her strategy is to basically steal the election despite the will of the voters?
Well, that figures for this student of Karl Rove.

very wierd story. buddy starts off like he's gonna quote from the horses mouth, saying he's talke to both camps, then he pulls a fakie to try and give more resonance to his POV, which it is and which he reveals by saying 'I'm sure both camps would agree' with his POV, that it is virtually impossible for hillary to...
more blah blah blah. can anyone tell me why the media want obama so bad? why did 60 minute put up a "candidates" that excluded the only woman in the race? why did cnn run so much obama hype? and why are we starting to chew on the bit the media is again feeding us.

i've gotten to the point where i don't care cause the whole thing is bs.

i mean we are in a time of war globally (as in world at war), and as such i look to sec of state as a real indication of future policy.

Obama= bryzynski (sorry for spelling), which means huge military spending and new weapons tech being the big ticket item (prolly why obama's already talking about strengthening the military, which of course would make huge money for GE and other media masters)

Clinton= albright, which means illegal activity at the UN and big stick punishment styl diplomacy (she murdered about 500,000 children and pulled the hitler line "ends justifies the means). alot less on military and more emphasis on "diplomacy' (HA!).

it has become aparent to me where the 'democratic' flaw in this race lies; to much emphasis on pres, and no examination of the team.
It's a freakin democracy people! a team effort but no one sees the team when they vote.

I think candidates should have to pick a team early (sec state, attourney gen, sec defence, etc.), then this whole thing would make sense and it would be a real race to see what team will lead the country.

people could say "yo hil, i ain't votin for ya until you dump that war criminal albright" and of course she would if enough of the delegates reflected that (could it be democracy?).
or they could say "hey barak, putting an old school cold warrior as your main foriegn policy go to guy doesn't reflect the change i am looking for" and if enough said it, he would replace the old boy.
but because the team remains hidden, and the process just reflects the rhetoric of an individual, it's hardly a democratic process, and leads to the apathy i'm feeling (fuk the vote, they both stink)...

Another words, it is another similarity between Hillary and the Usurper-in-Chief. She will steal elections just like Bush did in 2000 and 2004. Then she will wiretap American citizens to find those who oppose her, declaring her opposition, terrorist enemies of the state and fill Gitmo, and the Halliburton concentration camps with them to hold them indefinitely followed in six years by kangaroo trials and executions.

he said
"So, I will be supporting the Patriot Act compromise. But I urge my colleagues to continue working on ways to improve the civil liberties protections in the Patriot Act after it is reauthorized."
sounds like he voted for it. the last poster who said obama didn't reauthorize may know something i don't, but these are obama's words

Senator Obama claims superior judgment on the war in Iraq based on one speech given as a state legislator representing the most liberal district in Illinois at an anti-war rally in Chicago, and in so doing impugns the integrity of those who were part of the debate on the national scene. In mischaracterizing the debate on the Authorization for the Use of Military Force as a declaration of war, he implicitly blames Democrats for George Bush's war of choice. Obama's negative attack line does not conform to the facts. Nothing could be farther from the truth. I should know. I was among the most prominent anti-war voices at the time -- and never heard about or from then Illinois State Senator Obama

If Hillary honestly wins the nomination, then I will (hold my nose) and vote for her in November. If, however, the super-delegates are used to wrest the nomination from Obama, regardless of the popular vote, then my vote for President will be "none of the above", and I will be finally gone from the Democratic party.
