There's a Reason for Low Voter Turnout in Puerto Rico

And guess why :

BECAUSE PUERTO RICANS KNOW THEY CAN'T VOTE IN THE GENERAL ELECTION.

"Most people in Puerto Rico, I would venture to guess, they are not even aware that there's a primary going on," said Luis Pabón-Roca, a local political analyst.

He said the political atmosphere on the island this week is subdued compared to the fever that sweeps the island before local elections.

Some poll workers in small towns started abandoning the polling stations because turnout was so low, he said.

Part of the reason for the lack of interest, he said, is because voters feel the primary isn't meaningful since Puerto Ricans cannot vote in the general election.

The Democratic and Republican parties run the primaries and caucuses, and they allow U.S. territories, such as the commonwealth of Puerto Rico, to take part in the process.

But only the 50 states and the District of Columbia vote in the general election.

El Nuevo Día reports the Board of Elections expected to have 600.000 voters. The Clinton campaign bargained on a million and more. Less than 400.000 people woke up this morning with the primaries in their minds.

As I said, when it comes to that "popular vote" tomfoolery, my people are not stupid. Puerto Ricans know their vote doesn't count.

Unfortunately, too many US voters have no idea about the political realities of Puerto Rico. And that's what's so indecent about the Clintonistas using the Puerto Rican turnout to solidify their claims of entitlement to the nomination.

Isn't that the place where we are conscripting our little army grunts from, while on the whole your article is perceptive, it does register a fundamental problem. Mainland Americans lives, and universes begin when they get up in the morning. From thereon by the mere effort of thought they will you into and out of existence at a whim. Try it sometime it is an amazing phenomena. Not only does average joe and janes world physically start on the east coast, it ends on the west. The north and south are inconvenient truths we can ignore, until we can stick a definitive boundary there too.

As for votes and voters, well we have the best technology, and something called supreme voters, along with supreme judges to make sure that all is well in democratic land. We all know that these most enlightened methods of vote casting can be trusted to counting by the government officials, their private business, and families who require no oversight, nor can they be prosecuted. This is better than third world nation politics, we call it the greatest, because we have as much money to make it look as good as possible. It is actually the best circus in the world bar none.

So regardless be off with you and your thoughtful thoughts, after all not only do your votes not count most of you are brown, just be thankful you don't have beards.

That's why they are not voting, and shouldn't be allowed to vote!

Many times they refused to become a part of the US and actually become US citizens, all the while, they collect the immense welfare checks and other funds. They laugh all the way to the bank!

That's right, nobody likes to talk about PR in this way, the real PR.
