Newly Released Presidential Tapes Expose Nixon's Treason

Would Humphrey have won in '68 if LBJ went public and exposed Nixon's treachery?

The Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum released a new set of President Johnson's audiotapes yesterday and from the lot emerged this jaw-dropper:

In a segment aired at the news conference, Johnson tells Sen. Everett Dirksen, the Republican minority leader, that it will be Nixon's responsibility if the South Vietnamese don't participate in the peace talks.

"This is treason," LBJ says to Dirksen.

"I know," Dirksen replies, very softly.

Confronting Nixon by telephone on Nov. 3, Johnson outlines what had been alleged and how important it was to the conduct of the war for Nixon's people not to meddle.

"My God," Nixon says to Johnson, "I would never do anything to encourage the South Vietnamese not to come to that conference table." Instead, Nixon pledged to help in any way Johnson or Rusk suggested, "To hell with the political credit, believe me."

For Johnson and his top advisers, it wasn't a matter of whether Nixon was telling the truth but whether accusing Nixon of meddling would give the appearance that Johnson — rather than Nixon — was using the war to influence the election.

Tricky Dick, indeed.

Does Humphrey win in '68 if LBJ goes public and exposes Nixon's treachery? We'll never know.

Digg!

compared to the conspired global crimes since bush broke into the once White House.

We should all be well reminded here that MSM had integrity and a sense of ethics and boundaries of respect and honor then.

Today all bets are off. Pls. see All MSM for exactly what they are, an accomplice to the crimes.

Nixon became a traitor the first day he became chairman of the House UnAmerican Activities Committee. He betrayed 100's of loyal Americans, sent many of them to prison, and destroyed reputations of untold 1,000's simply by declaring them to be Communists or Fellow Travelers and issuing them subpoenas to come to testify in Washington. The mere taint of his lynch mob was enough to ruin decent people in the eyes of a mindless, frightened public.

Nixon and Bush both merit special recognization and should be honored with the Nixon-Bush National Treachery Award, given only to those ex-Presidents who have betrayed the principles of democracy, fairness, justice and common decency in an exemplary manner.

I think we should see it as an opportunity to do some serious house cleaning.

What about this issue? NBC News' suppression of the "military analyst" scandal

Rather than honestly investigate the numerous facts which Barstow uncovered about McCaffery's severe conflicts, NBC instead is clearly in self-protective mode, working in tandem with McCaffrey to create justifications for what they have done.

But remarkably, this "news organization" has still not uttered a peep to its viewers about these stories; has not reported on any of the indisputably newsworthy events surrounding the Pentagon's "military analyst" program; and continues to present McCaffrey to its viewers as an objective source without disclosing any of the multiple connections and interests he has that would lead any reasonable person to question his objectivity.

Nixon said it is legal if the president does it, Bush/Cheney used that argument to legalize torture. The CIA was already doing it and Bush daddy was in charge of that. Bush baby is just bringing his family values out of the closet.

Who would have thunk so many red blooded Americans would have torture as a family value? Only a religious leader, apparently.

Is that the NBC News motto engraved on its letterhead and wall plaques: We trust in government officials and military leaders -- a basic tenant of journalism.

I'm wondering about that too.

Every time I hear the BS Term 'Rovian' I laugh. Either your memories are Short or you think Ours Are.
These Underhanded, criminal and Treasonous political tactics have been used for years to gain, maintain and misrepresent Power. Seems every Repug Admin since Nixon has used these to 'win' elections, divert power to personal agendas and ReWrite History once out.
While Nixon makes a Grandstand against Hippies and John Lennon, He's rigging the next election. While Ronny's Dazzling the Public with BS his minions are doing deals behind the sitting pres back to get a well timed Release of the Hostages (couldn't allow it to happen BEFORE The election?), Then waging his grandiose 'Star Wars' and single handledly pull every brick Down from the Berlin Wall, His Admin is sending money and Weapons to Bin laden and Saddam. While HW is combating his Ol' Bed fellow Saddam in Kuwait, Our national debt for it is growing expotentially. While W's Banging his Drum about 'War on Terror' the 'Royal' Oil terrorist and their Corp whores are kneecapping our economy.
Rove is an Idiot just like his Buddy W. The techniques that have been used to deceive the masses are far more intrical then Rove could have ever conceived. these methods are those used in such things as Brainwashing and what invokes such things as Mass hysteria. These highly devised methods are far more likely to have been perfected during a time when such things would have been advantageous....Like WW2 psychological Research. Remember it was not only the Nazi's working on psychological warefare and agents...Edgar Casey,LSD.
Karl Rove may have been old enough to be popping pimples when this 'Handbook' was penned. The only reason you have a Clue about the 'handbook' is because Rove SUCKED at it and allowed the techiniques to be reveald to the General Public.Teh pure Blood Thristy reaction to attacking Iraq by the majority of Ameircans even in the face of dissenting opinions, should provide enough evidence to the use of Psychology of the Masses.
this last Election was proof the masses have come out of the Fog.We not only figured out the methods, we revolted Against them..We had been satiated by the Over use and Brazen arrogance by which Rove flaunted his new found 'master mind' Status. He tipped their hand because his Ego was bolstered by the Adulations of 'Rovian'.Turd is like the criminal who is so proud of his crime and his methods he can't wait to tell the cops exactly how he outwitted them.
What we should really call it iis probably closer to 'Skinnarian' aka Behavior Modification in which if Reward or punishment is used to liberally or revealed for what they are, the subjects often react in opposition to, exhibit the Opposite reaction as taht which was desired...commonly known as BACKLASH.
Could THE DICK be pissed at THE TURD? Unfortunately is has been US taking it up the Ass for at least 4 decades.
