This story is more inspiring than any Hollywood film I've ever seen.

If someone told me this story without the film footage to back it up, I would dismiss it as one of those highly exaggerated, only-happens-in-fairy-tales-and-Hollywood-movies type cases. But this true story is more inspiring than any Hollywood film I've ever seen.

CBS recently ran a story about Jason McElwain from Greece Athena High School in Rochester, N.Y. Jason, who is autistic, had been the manager of the varsity basketball team for years fetching towels and water for his teammates. But when his coach gave him a chance to play in the last five minutes of the game, he scored 20 points in four minutes and created the biggest party in the history of basketball.

You can watch the video here.

Dream on…

Kristina this story brought instant tears to my eyes when I first seen it on ESPN. I`m sure there are a dozen directors fighting over the rights to this story as we speak!!! It`ll be a movie for sure!!!!!!!

I heard that the powers that be in Hollywood are planning a movie, 'The New Rudy.'

My nephew is autistic. He was diagnosed very early and he talks, shows affection, smiles, etc. He will always be a little different than his nieces but we all know those curious eyes are showing tremendous intelligence. This was a great story!

This story just cannot get enough attention. I've read hundreds of comments at various places on the Web and, although there are the inevitable few that will poo poo on anything, it's so refreshing for there finally to be one thing in the news that everyone can agree on. Beautiful.

I heard about this on the radio before it hit the evening news, and the thing that that caught my attention was that was the last 5 minutes of the last game of his last season. I hadn't heard that he was essentially a water-boy and thought that perhaps he was an actual member of the team and never given a chance. I couldn't help but wonder if he had been too easily dismissed.

This is the kind of story I needed today... I've been feeling a little blue due to the state of affairs in this country and the DC hustle and bustle... I am truly inspired.... They should make a film about it. I bet they will. ")
