Hillary Clinton talks about counting all the votes, but what she doesn't talk about is that she also wants to use super delegates to overturn the judgment of voters. It's just another example Hillary Clinton's New Rules. Check out the video made by the Jed Report (the folks behind the Bosnia video) to your right for more.

The Republicans will destroy Obama (Willie Horton style)

Mr. Obama will go down in flames.

The Republican are merely waiting for his nomination and then they'll do the same thing to Obama that they did to Michael Dukakis in 1988 with the Willie Horton ads.

William Ayers is the second Chicago figure to consider in the political profile of Mr. Obama. William C. Ayers, known as Bill Ayers, is notorious as a terrorist bomber from the 1970s.

Mr. Ayers and his wife, the equally notorious Weatherman terrorist Bernardine Dohrn, hosted a crucial meet the candidate event in their Hyde Park neighborhood home in 1995 when Mr. Obama, also a Hyde Park resident. They also are fundraisers for Obama.

The William Ayers association alone will give the Republicans all the ammunition they need to "Willie Horton" Obama.

Antoin "Tony" Rezko a Syrian-born U.S. citizen described by the press as a "fixer," is now in federal prison in Chicago and about to go on trial on March 3 for stealing up to $6 million from the people of Illinois with various kickback schemes while he was working for the present Democratic Governor, Rod Blagojevich.

Again, this is "red meat" for the Republican smear machine, and Obama's campaign will not survive even the most cursory scrutiny by the Republicans.

Rashid Khalidi and his wife Mona founded the Arab American Action Network (AAAN), a group associated with confrontational statements of support for Palestinians and antagonism toward Israel. In 2001 and again in 2002, the Woods Fund of Chicago, with directors Ayers and Obama, made grants of $40,000 and $35,000 to the AAAN. Importantly, the AAAN vice-president Ali Abunimah of Electronic Intifada has remembered Mr. Obama's speaking in 1999 against "Israeli occupation" at a charity event for a West Bank refugee camp.

The association with Rashid Khalidi alone is poison for the Obama campaign. The Republicans will destroy Obama and attempt to smear him as an anti-Semite.

Nadhmi Auchi n Iraqi-born billionaire investor who founded his global enterprise General Mediterranean Holdings (GMH) in 1979 before he left Iraq. Mr. Auchi is a prominent, mysterious figure, who was convicted in a French court in 2003 of political shenanigans in Iraqi oil contracts with regard French government officials and the oil giant TotalFinaElf. There are suspicions that Mr. Auchi's commerce with Saddam Hussein, Qaddafi, and the corrupt UN sanctions regime for Iraq called "Oil for Food."

These four association are death for Obama's campaign.

Put simply, if Obama wins the Democratic presidential nomination, McCain and the Republican smear machine will destroy him and ultimately win in a landslide.

Essay: Blizzard of Lies

By WILLIAM SAFIRE

Americans of all political persuasions are coming to the sad realization that our First Lady -- a woman of undoubted talents who was a role model for many in her generation -- is a congenital liar.

Drip by drip, like Whitewater torture, the case is being made that she is compelled to mislead, and to ensnare her subordinates and friends in a web of deceit.

1. Remember the story she told about studying The Wall Street Journal to explain her 10,000 percent profit in 1979 commodity trading? We now know that was a lie told to turn aside accusations that as the Governor's wife she profited corruptly, her account being run by a lawyer for state poultry interests through a disreputable broker.

She lied for good reason: To admit otherwise would be to confess taking, and paying taxes on, what some think amounted to a $100,000 bribe.

2. The abuse of Presidential power known as Travelgate elicited another series of lies....

3. In the aftermath of the apparent suicide of her former partner and closest confidant, White House Deputy Counsel Vincent Foster... [h]er closest friends and aides, under oath, have been blatantly disremembering this likely obstruction of justice, and may have to pay for supporting Hillary's lie with jail terms.

Again, the lying was not irrational. Investigators believe that damning records from the Rose Law Firm, wrongfully kept in Vincent Foster's White House office, were spirited out in the dead of night and hidden from the law for two years -- in Hillary's closet...

The records show Hillary Clinton was lying when she denied actively representing a criminal enterprise known as the Madison S.& L., and indicate she may have conspired with Web Hubbell's father-in-law to make a sham land deal that cost taxpayers $3 million...

By concealing the Madison billing records two days beyond the statute of limitations, Hillary evaded a civil suit by bamboozled bank regulators....

"Why didn't she just come clean at the beginning?" She had good reasons to lie; she is in the longtime habit of lying; and she has never been called to account for lying herself or in suborning lying in her aides and friends....

Clintons facing fraud trial

April 02, 2008 Morning Edition
ELECTION 2008 Clintons to face fraud trial
Judge setting date, testimony to include ex-president, senator

While Hillary Clinton battles Barack Obama on the campaign trail, a judge in Los Angeles is quietly preparing to set a trial date in a $17 million fraud suit that aims to expose an alleged culture of widespread corruption by the Clintons and the Democratic Party.

At the conclusion of a hearing tomorrow morning before California Superior Court Judge Aurelio N. Munoz, lawyers for Hollywood mogul Peter F. Paul will begin seeking sworn testimony from all three Clintons – Bill, Hillary and Chelsea – along with top Democratic Party leaders and A-list celebrities, including Barbra Streisand, John Travolta, Brad Pitt and Cher.

Paul's team hopes for a trial in October. The Clintons' longtime lawyer David Kendall, who will attend the hearing, has declined comment on the suit.

The Clintons have tried to dismiss the case, but the California Supreme Court, in 2004, upheld a lower-court decision to deny the motion.

Bill Clinton, according to the complaint, promised to promote Paul's Internet entertainment company, Stan Lee Media, in exchange for stock, cash options and massive contributions to his wife's 2000 Senate campaign. Paul contends he was directed by the Clintons and Democratic Party leaders to produce, pay for and then join them in lying about footing the bill for a Hollywood gala and fundraiser.

The Clintons' legal counsel has denied the former president made any deal with Paul. But Paul attorney Colette Wilson told WND there are witnesses who say it was common knowledge at Stan Lee Media that Bill Clinton was preparing to be a rainmaker for the company after he left office.

Paul claims former Vice President Al Gore, former Democratic Party chairman Ed Rendell and Clinton presidential campaign chairman Terry McAuliffe also are among the people who can confirm Paul engaged in the deal.

Paul claims Rendell directed various illegal contributions to the DNC and Hillary Clinton's campaign and failed to report to the Federal Election Commission more than $100,000 given for a Hollywood event for Gore's campaign and the Democratic National Committee in 2000. McAuliffe, Paul says, counseled him in two separate meetings to become a major donor to Hillary Clinton to pave the way to hire her husband. Paul asserts top Clinton adviser Harold Ickes also directed him to give money to the Senate campaign but hid that fact in "perjured testimony" during the trial of campaign finance director David Rosen.

browbeating

It might be pointed to joeunix that saying things with 'great faith' which have no substantiation over and over again, calling Obama supporters names, and trying to browbeat others, merely disrupts discussion, obscures facts, clutters the thread with spam, and makes him look bad.

Something similar can be said regarding Hillary Clinton -- who also made the logical fallacy of an 'appeal to authority' in her elitist screed trying to dismiss voters in favor of politicians 'with different experience'.

Clinton says 'Obama can't win'; perhaps she also thinks that Parker Lewis can't lose -- another bit of fictional television (but funnier).

If the Democrats get their act together McCain is the most vulnerable and least qualified of any of the leading contenders, but those vulnerabilities haven't yet been focused on except in some of the alternative press.

We can note that Hillary is sinking fast with her attacks on Obama, who understands how to handle such things -- all the more so will McCain sink when battering his ugliness against Obama. Obama posesses skill with what might be called 'verbal aikido' -- turning aside the force of an attack and using it against the attacker. What sort of president he will make remains to seen, but he is truly great as a candidate.

Smearing Obama

Current rating: 4    [1 = poor; 5 = excellent]
BTW -- we don't have to wait for the Republicans to see Obama being smeared -- here's one from Hillary:

"A recent Clinton campaign research document charged that Barack Obama was falsely claiming to be a professor:

...

[University of Chicago says]
He [Obama] was a Senior Lecturer from 1996 to 2004, during which time he taught three courses per year. Senior Lecturers are considered to be members of the Law School faculty and are regarded as professors, although not full-time or tenure-track.
..."

My sense is that most people are quite tired of smear-politics, and that one reason so many gravitate towards Obama is because he avoids that, whereas the Clinton campaign has embraced it -- and has thus associated herself with typical Republican and right-wing thinking, resulting in higher negative numbers.

If Clinton tries to compete against the Republicans in a mud fight, she will likely lose since the right are now old hands at that. In fact, everyone will lose as politics descends further into the slime and lies. Many voters may well be disgusted and not even vote -- particularly the more progressive voters. Obama offers an alternative to smear, and voters are looking for that.

BOTH of these candidates are Very Flawed!
Neither of them, are Progressives! 'like' Russ Feingold, or Barbara Boxer!

Did you read these posts? Did you hear yourselves? If you can tear apart each others candidate like this, just imagine what the Repugs will do? IF, 'they' (the Repug. Politized Justice Dept.) get enough on either of them, what are the Dems. left with?

Another BAD Choice! Is this why, Really good candidates, like Edwards, kucinich, were forced out early??

Both these candidates; ARE the Party Choices, not the Peoples. (Repeated AirAmerica phone polls had Edwards & Kucinich one & two)
The Media, (with the parties blessing) Spun, and the FCC never provided the matching funds!

The Party Insiders won't allow a Progressive candidate, in the race! The Party has to protect their Corporate Interests! Centrist/Bi-Partisianship would be great, IF the Center wasn't already 40 degrees to the Right! Even in the Minority, the Repugs. have it 'their way' almost evry time! Take the Minimum Wage Increase, Business Interests got more from that bill, then anyone else! Look at this Bill to 'help homeownes' in forclosurer, It helps Builders/Contractors more then homeowners!

Simple fix: The Justice Dept. can send Oders out to all housing court judges; no more 'Rubber-Stamping' Forclosures! Both parties go into arbitration, with intructions from the Judge, to work out an agreement! Split the lost value, a new fixed-rate loan, at 5% above Prime! (as an example) They can do it, because the Fed. cut prime for them, and added liquidity for them, not to mention the recent bail-out! Read for yourself what they've done instead! At our expense!

In an effort, to Protect their Special Interests, Lobbists, and Corporations: The Democratic Party has left us with two candidates, neither of whom can WIN, in November!!Even if one of them does manage, to sqeak out a win, 'The People' still Lose!

I volunteered for Dem. candidates, donated, for years! I just can't do it anymore! The Blue(Yellow)-Dog Dems. and the Corporate Dems; have taken over the party; In My Opinion: The Democratic Party no longer represents it's base: We the Blue-Collar Working People!

That's why I've switched to the Green Party! They don't take ANY Corporate Money! They have a Real Written Party Platform! Every candidate runs on it! Check it out! You might just be Impressed. I was.

Superdelegates must represent their constituents

Massachusetts superdelegates Kennedy and Kerry have endorsed Senator Obama even though their constituents voted to support Senator Clinton. In what way is that honoring the will of the people? If superdelegates are charged with representing the will of the people delegates would be required to support the candidate endorsed by their constituents. Senators would have to vote for the candidate that won their state and Congressmembers would be required to support the candidate that won their district. Yet very few people have endorsed this approach. Not surprisingly, each campaign supports the approach that favors their candidate.
