Top 5 Totally Reasonable Explanations for McCain's Zapatero Statement

Liberals are going totally loco over McCain's response to the idea of meeting with Spanish Prime Minister Luis Rodríguez Zapatero. When asked about it, McCain responded by saying "All I can tell you is that I have a clear record of working with leaders in the Hemisphere that are friends with us and standing up to those who are not. And that's judged on the basis of the importance of our relationship with Latin America and the entire region...we are now working in cooperation with the Mexican Government."

When the rude and uber-nationalist, jingoistic Spanish-speaking reporter explained "I'm talking about the president of Spain." McCain countered with, "I'm willing to meet with any leader who is dedicated to the same principles and philosophy that we are for human rights, democracy and freedom and I will stand up to those that do not."

Liberals all over are trying to figure out why McCain is dissing Spain and/or confusing Spain with Latin America. I have my own theories and here they are:
McCain doesn't want to meet with Zapatero because ...

1) the Spanish Prime Minister promotes the Homosexual agenda through his "curious" lisp and his legalization of gay marriage.

2) he doesn't want to encourage more Spanish people to sneak across our borders and steal our jobs, replacing hamburgers with paella, square dancing with flamenco and baseball with bullfighting.

3) he was unclear whether the reporter was talking about THE Zapatero or a zapatero, and McCain thinks it's a little below him to commit to a meeting with his cobbler.

4) he still hasn't forgiven Spain for the inquisition, which he remembers losing friends to, and which haunts him to this day.

5) as a skin cancer survivor, McCain resents Spain's pro sun propaganda.

Digg!

. . . confusing Zapatero with the Zapatistas, who I'm sure he believes are left-wing Mexican terrorists.

After watching John McCain for many months it is becoming clear that not all is right. Given the sinister nature of the NeoCons, and the true identity of the Dark Lord of Sith Joe Liebermann. Is it possible that McCain is being drugged and mentally abused, and is in fact their puppet. It is worth taking seriously the NeoCons stop at nothing they are like Nazis

Incipiently demented is McCain.

Perhaps no longer incipiently!
I have watched this liar with increasing dismay over the past months.
Who gains by supporting this defective individual in this position?
And a more general question.
How after months of that absurd, democracy-debasing farce which is called the primaries do you end up with a brain damaged geriatric like McCain?
It is essential that this man be psychiatrically assessed and medically assessed before the election.
As a non-American I have no right to participate in the choice of your president. As a non-American I simply have the right to be bullied whenever the interests of America seem to be at risk because of my existence.

I guess John is just upset that Spain will not continue to let it's innocent civilians die in TRAIN BOMBINGS in MADRID. Bombings incited by helping defend the USA in the so-called war on terror. Just like us socialist backward ingrates that US right-wing attack dogs like to call us up here.

McCain didn't know who he was...

...And just ass-u-me(d)that he was another angry "Commie" S. American leader we were trying to overthrow. In other words, he was trying to fake his way through the question - sort of like what Palin did with the "Bush Doctrine" question.

We need more Spanish immigrants. Paela is far better than hamburgers, Flamenco is sexier and cooler then square dancing (which really isn't saying much), and bullfighting is way the heck more awesome and, again, sexier then baseball (which, again, isn't saying much). To all Spaniards, quick, come to America! We already speak Spanish (well, the good parts of the country do).

Mea CULPA

I owe everyoone a huge Mea Culpa concerning my defense of McCain . I just listened to the Interview and the Reporter questioned McCain about various Countries such as Venezuela and Bolivia asking McCain to comment on them .
John was all for Democracy in those aforementioned Countries . Of Course both Chavez and Morales were DEMOCRATICALLY elected by their citizens .
The reporter did identify Spain as the country she was talking about when she asked about meeting with the President . So I was ABSOLUTELY WRONG in defending McCain he should have known it was Spain

It seems to me that anyone who can't remember where Spain is shouldn't be seriously considered as president of the US, let alone someone who crashed an airplane there and still can't remember where it is.

Dear Citizen:
Are you ready yet for the November 4th Elections? How about your friends, family, and neighbors?
More Americans are expected to vote this year than ever before in history, so don’t be left out! Be sure to ask everyone you know the following questions:
 Are you registered to vote? If you moved recently, have you updated your voter registration?
 Did you apply for an Absentee Ballot? Do you know your state may not require any reason?
 Can you find your local Polling Place? Do you know it may have changed from last time?
The answers to these questions -- and all your voting needs -- can be found at www.StateDemocracy.org -- the FREE 1-Stop citizen empowerment portal that Delivers Democracy to your Desktop! StateDemocracy is among the Internet’s first (since 2001) and most encompassing civic empowerment tools.
In order to boost voter participation this year, StateDemocracy.org is offering FREE widgets for all 50 states. You can simply download and embed these widgets into your own website so your visitors can register to vote, get an absentee ballot or find their local polling place.
Lobby Congress Via StateDemocracy
StateDemocracy.org also equips you to maintain an active dialog with your state and federal lawmakers once they are elected. And RIGHT NOW is an especially opportune time to contact your U.S. Senators and House Member, as Congress takes up major legislation on such issues as offshore oil drilling, another economic stimulus package and all federal appropriations bills over the next few weeks.
As you lobby your elected officials, remember that lawmakers view your constituent input as reflective of scores of other citizens who felt similarly, but didn’t have (or take) the time to share their opinions.
LobbyDelegates.com Further Empowered Grassroots Voices
Over the past 5 months, you may have visited www.LobbyDelegates.com, along with 26,000 other visitors. This latest public interest portal by the StateDemocracy Foundation remained the only online tool enabling rank-and-file Democrats to lobby all 800+ Super Delegates on which candidate to back for the party’s Presidential nomination.

I think it's because that idiot thought the reporter was referring to the zapatistas from Mexico at the beginning . Really , then when he heard Spain , he got confused and didn't want to act like he didn't know the difference
