Mitt Romney Backer Says Al Gore Plotting Mass Murder, Worse Than Hitler

Days prior to endorsing Republican Mitt Romney for President -- millionaire author Ann Coulter accused environmentalists, including former Vice President Al Gore, of plotting mass murder on a scale worse than Hitler or Stalin.

Once an outspoken supporter of environmental policy, Romney has recently flipped his stance on the environment in an effort to model his campaign after the current policies of President George W. Bush.

Claiming that Gore in particular and liberals in general use environmentalism to cloak their hidden plot to murder all but 1 million of the earth's population, Coulter wrote the following in her recent syndicated column (Feb. 28, 2007):

Liberals have always had a thing about eliminating humans. Stalin wanted to eliminate the kulaks and Ukranians, vegetarian atheist Adolf Hitler wanted to eliminate the Jews, Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger wanted to eliminate poor blacks, DDT opponent Rachel Carson wanted to eliminate Africans (introduction to her book "Silent Spring" written by … Al Gore!), and population-control guru Paul Ehrlich wants to eliminate all humans.

(Feb. 28, 2007, full article here)

Thus, the controversial Republican pundit included Gore and other environmentalists amongst the perpetrators of the 20th Century's worst genocides.

Coulter's column went on to charge Gore and others with the grotesque fantasy of wanting to force "229 million" people to die of starvation, particularly -- in Coulter's words -- the "fuel-guzzling, tacky, beer-drinking, NASCAR-watching middle class."

Coulter penned her conspiracy theory about Gore several days prior to endorsing Romney at the 2007 CPAC conference, and several days after the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences awarded the Oscar for Best Documentary to Davis Guggenheim's film An Inconvenient Truth, which featured the former Vice President's work on environmental initiatives.

Despite Coulter's accusations, Republican voters in recent election cycles have voiced increasing support for environmental initiatives.

The Mitt Romney campaign has yet to repudiate Coulter's charges.

A. Wasn't a vegetarian
and
B. Couldn't really be called a "liberal". He wanted to.. and DID kill homosexuals and organized a show of "degenerate art" which was closed because people actually LIKED it, rather than taking it as the moral lesson it was meant to be.
That ain't liberalism, honey.

Unintended consquences or outright desire for depopulation?

Of course there are some who publicly expouse the need to depopulate the earth for the benefit of Gaia and other animals but those people are in the minority. There are certainly elitist types who also desire population decrease through out history due to their control/concern about controlling the 'masses' or 'peasants' and the possible conflicts to their privledged lifestyle (sterilisation campaigns, ethnic cleansings, forced abortions, one-child policies, etc.) But by far the worse damaged is caused simply by unintended consquences of measures that seemed like a good idea at the time. Here is the danger with the quick laws about 'global warming' and not allowing 3rd World Countries to have electric power, cleanliness, or resistent crops. Like the banning of DDT by nations to 'save the eagles' which has resulted in tens of thousands of people in the poor countries being killed by waves or resurgent malaria, sleeping sickness, dengue fever, yellow fever, etc. We 'saved' a bird (and many trillions of misquitos) but killed many, primarily 'brown and black' people in the process.

... hoping it'll go away. It needs to be dragged out into the light and looked at dispassionately in order to deal with it. Coulter is like the rest of the RadRight: scared shitless, and desperate for a reason to declare herself better than someone. As Spider Robinson says, "Anger is always fear in drag. Always" He's right. And hate, as I've said before, is anger dressed to kill.

If people like this were really Christians, cherry-picking scripture would be anathma, but they do exactly that to justify their worst instincts and preferences. It's sad to know there are so many like this, but gratifying that they crawled out from under their rocks at the wrong time thinking they were safe, so now we know about them. They stayed hidden efore, when others rightfully saw this kind of mentality as shameful and sick. There are enough of them, however, and they have slithered into enough places of power, to drive another Dark Ages if we sit complacent.

Keep the light on them, and start speaking out! (And apologies for typos - typing lying down).

Ian

Ignore the bitch! I pay no attention to wingnuts! If a Bush tape comes on the local news, I switch channels. I prefer used car dealers to GWB.

...like many advocates of saving the enviroment would like to see the population reduced - by volentary restriction of fertility. If not the population will probably be reduced by storm, flood, plague and starvation. Not by any 'liberal' plot.

"vegetarian atheist Adolf Hitler "

Hitler was a CATHOLIC !!! ...essentially endorsed by Popes.

There is no question that there is a long history of abuses, but closer study does bring to light a salient point: Many abuses have been brought about in the name of religion. None have been in the name of atheism. Coulter cites several popular examples of 'atheist' abusers. Hitler is the one variant in the examples in that he was not an atheist, he was a Catholic Christian.

History is being distorted by many preachers, politicians, and A-holes like Coulter. They are heard on the airwaves condemning atheists and routinely claim Adolph Hitler was one.

What a crock! Hitler was a Roman Catholic, baptized into that religio-political institution as an infant in Austria. He became a communicant and an altar boy in his youth, and was confirmed as a "soldier of Christ" in that church. The worst doctrines of that church never left him. He was steeped in its liturgy, which contained the words, "perfidious Jew." This hateful statement was not removed until 1961.

In his day, hatred of Jews was the norm. In great measure it was sponsored by the two major religions of Germany, Catholicism and Lutheranism. He greatly admired Martin Luther, who openly hated the Jews. Luther condemned the Catholic Church for its pretensions and corruption, but he supported the centuries of papal pogroms against the Jews. Luther said, "The Jews deserve to be hanged on gallows seven times higher than ordinary thieves," and "We ought to take revenge on the Jews and kill them." "Ungodly wretches" he calls the Jews in his widely read Table Talk.

Hitler seeking power, wrote in Mein Kampf. "... I am convinced that I am acting as the agent of our Creator. By fighting off the Jews. I am doing the Lord's work." Years later, when in power, he quoted those same words in a Reichstag speech in 1938.

Three years later he informed General Gerhart Engel: "I am now as before a Catholic and will always remain so." He never left the church, and the church never left him. Great literature was banned by his church, but his miserable Mien Kampf never appeared on the Catholic Index of Forbidden Books.

He was not excommunicated or even condemned by his church. Popes, in fact, contracted with Hitler and his fascist friends Franco and Mussolini, giving them veto power over whom the pope could appoint as a bishop in Germany, Spain and Italy. The three thugs agreed to surtax the Catholics of their countries and send the money to Rome in exchange for making sure the state could control the church.

Those who would make Hitler an atheist should turn their eyes to history books before they address their pews and microphones.

[Twice posted again - it has been coming through as a blank]

Many thanks for injecting some actual facts into the faith-based ideological war against reality-based thought. The Nazis and the RC church were in cahoots before the war, during the war and even after the war when the rats were running for cover in rat-havens like Argentina.

However it would not be all that imporetant even if Hitler WAS an athiest, as Stalin probably was. Both, like all enemies of humanity, demanded that reason be overridden by faith.
