When it comes to the Geneva conventions and torture, the president just wants some clarity. Stephen Colbert breaks down his clear logic on the issue:

"Everyone knows that President Bush is one of the world's great clear thinkers…. Torture is illegal. The US obeys the law. Therefore, the US does not torture. So… we need to make it legal."

Is is just me or has some of the fire gone out of the Colbert Report?

Maybe it is just that the "reality" of our political world is already so absurd that even Stephen's brilliance cannot top it.

Or, maybe Barry Manilow is still working his evil mojo....

"At the Copa, Copacabana...."

Is this the best we can do?

Is this the best we can do...?? Laugh about the consequences of this absolutely criminal administration?? Humor's got it's use as a tension reliever, but it also works as a sedative, too.

I rather have comedians SHOCK the audience... The humor, done for too long, reduces the will to oppose them. Take the example of the young French last spring who had the cajones to go out and burn a thousand cars and FORCE the government to rethink its stance on immigration and labor laws. Well-placed violence can have beneficial effects...

I tell ya, this Radical Republican administration, nor the Dem's gives a fat rat's assh about what you think and will delay, obstruct, and deny any beneficial change until they are confronted by the intimidation and violence that they themselves use and understand best.

Do it, now, for the rest of the world. We are not in the US. I live in Greece and Spain and see and read about European and American issues every day and no good will come out of America until Americans, like you, begin.
