RE: And you ignored the whole point of the book and the interview

Feminism is not based on appearances. And how do you know that was a Gucci skirt? And where do YOU buy shoes for $160? Why no comments on Steven's tie or shoes? You, Charopos, are an idiot.

Real feminism doesn't have a dress code. Where are you getting your information about feminism -- from Rush Limbaugh?

I have clothes that look like that although I didn't pay those prices. It is smart to have the option and was just right for the interview. She did great, looked the part. Go girl!

Now I want to see her book.

It's not good theater if you don't lick the cover.

Okay, so, I haven't read her book. Based on this interview, however, I'm annoyed.

Why is feminism as self-help preferable to anti-feminism? Feminism shouldn't be reduced to a shield for the body image wars, as though somehow the only problem facing women--especially globally--is our BMIs.

Wages? Health care? Affordable child care? Pay equity? Fundamentalist Christianity and Islam? Equitable relationships with men? Workplace rigidity and family life?

Nope: c'mon girls, embrace your cellulite!!! And, if you do it for your own pleasure, I cannot judge. What a load of crap.

It's an utter waste of time to cleanse feminism of its edge and substance in order to more effectively market it. I'd much rather have girls learn about the actual history of second wave feminism--a much more effective counter to anti-feminist stereotypes than fluff and apology.

Jessica was great! It was nice to see a non-comedian who could go on the show but still deal with Stephen's always-in-character schtick! (Thought I got the impression he kinda had the hots for her a little...)

My favorite part was her little curses that made it past the censors. ("JesusChrist") Hilarious.

...she's just looking to make a buck off of her less attractive, less secure counterparts? I smell a racket. Something about cake, and eating it too...
