Sexist Jackass Scorns Rachel Maddow at Values Voters Summit: "I Prefer That My Women Not Look Like Dudes"

Posted by Matt Corley, Think Progress at 4:30 AM on September 22, 2009.

In a breakout session at the conference, Young America's Foundation spokesman Jason Mattera launched a pathetic, chauvinist defense of conservatives: "Our Women Are Hot."

At the Values Voter Summit on Friday, former Miss California Carrie Prejean said that conservatives needed to be "an example" of "tolerance, respect and just how to be civil." But her advice was ignored the next day when Young America's Foundation spokesman Jason Mattera addressed a breakout session called "Turning The Tide In Your Generation." In his comments, Mattera evoked the battle of David against Goliath as a metaphor for conservative college students who are 'persecuted' by the big bad liberals who control academia. While discussing that theme, Mattera took the opportunity to argue for the supremacy of conservatism by saying, "our women are hot":

During the panel, Mattera took the David and Goliath metaphor another perverse step: If conservatives (David) smite liberals (Goliath), they will be rewarded with the hot conservative women, just like King Saul promised his daughter to the warrior who slew the evil giant. "You know his daughter must have been beautiful because there's no guy whose gonna die for an ugly girl," Mattera chortled. "Our women are hot. We have Michelle Malkin. Who does the left have, Rachel Maddow? Sorry, I prefer that my women not look like dudes."

Reporting for CampusProgress, Sarah Posner points out that Mattera had even more problems with his David and Goliath metaphor: "'David has the righteous answer,' Mattera said, 'because he is taking pride in his Christian beliefs.' No matter that Mattera didn't accurately grasp David’s biography or the biblical timeline. In conserva-land, David, a character from the Old Testament, was a Christian even before Christ was born."

Digg!

... to anyone else a bit too close to the whole 72 virgins thing???

Oh, and conservative boys... you only get ONE of those hot women... EVER. Well, except for the prostitutes you might go to or, if you get into high enough office, those female aides you have hanging around. Or the male ones, if you prefer. After all... it seems to be you conservatives who have the toughest time keeping it in your pants when it matters.

Hatred must be "hot" to conservatives

I prefer intelligent, hot women like Maddow and Ana Marie Cox. Malkin...please...she spouts nothing but hatred. Hatred is not a sexy trait, except for perhaps Matteras and the rest of the conservatives. I'll stick with the sexy liberals. ;)

Michelle Malkin held up as HOT? hardly - but why is the larger point not even addressed. Student politically motivated violence on campus.

Many universities are almost exclusively liberal and nothing wrong with that unless it affect campus life for others or seeps into class material! This is a perfect example of how one groups lock on institutions can give rise to an equally intollerent group, hence Mattera.

I remember last year there were a number of cases of left wing students becoming violent toward conservative groups or military vets giving speeches. The one I remember is Columbia Univ here in NY.

So whats being taught in our mega priced universities? Destroy your political opponents before they destroy you! And we wonder why our political landscape looks like it does today.

Great way to attract women to your cause

Let them know that you constantly scrutinize their looks.

Not that conservatives really care about what the vagina class thinks, but any comments about the attractiveness of liberal or conservative women are as pointless as the attractiveness of the men. It's the ideas, stupid.

Now their is a hottie, I dig chicks with an adam's apple!!!! Makes you wonder if anything else "protrudes".

Rachel my love please go straight so I can have a glimmer of hope:) You too Melissa Etheridge talk about hot!!! But it is small wonder these two intelligent, talented, beautiful, able, accomplished women prefer women, if this asswipe is an example of the men they have to choose from.

Disclaimer: I fully believe sexual orientation is not a choice, just trying to make a point, peace:)

... style over substance.

Yes, Malkin may be more attractive to some... but what comes out of her mouth is monstrous drivel. It would be hard for anyone to really disagree with that.. unless they are blinded by blindly agreeing with whatever the hot chick says.

Jason went on to say:
"Yes, our Conservative Babes are hot. So hot that I can't stop thinking about them. Michelle Malkin, Oh God! And Anne Coulter. Wow! I can barely sleep nights. And then there's Bill O'Reilly. What? ... wait a minute. JESUS CHRIST! I JUST TURNED GAY!."

"Our women are hot. We have Michelle Malkin. Who does the left have, Rachel Maddow? Sorry, I prefer that my women not look like dudes."

The Republics, and especially the Religious Right, only see women in terms of their sex appeal... how good would that woman be as a BREEDER?

A woman with a brain??? Must be revolting to the Kool-Aid drinking asshats. No wonder he doesn't think Rachel is beautiful!

"I prefer that my women not look like dudes."

...and I prefer my women to have brains, especially if I am working alongside them or have to build a life with them. Blow-up dolls are just not good to work with, nor is it fulfilling to have relationships with them.

Another Point Ignored...

Nevermind that Rachel Maddow is very attractive because she's both sexy AND smart. I'd rather have a nice dinner and engaging conversation with Rachel, knowing full well that that's all that would happen, than have to try to make idle banter with someone like Malkin or Coulter, ignoring either one's completely evil shrill bitchiness, thinking I might get a chance to roll her later... I wouldn't even begin to be able to get it up for either one of them. When you've matured a bit, you realize that the brain is a far more significant player, in terms of eroticism, than the body, anyway.

The point is that Progressives value women for their actual professional capabilities and contributions, and not just for their looks. How many women end up looking like Barbie? Damn few, I'd say... but that's what conservatives want their women to look like if they're going to be presenting opinions. And that's a pretty sad statement for the girls and women trapped in that paradigm: if you're not traditionally hot, you're just going to have to be happy taking a back seat.

We owe it to girls and women everywhere to help set them all free from the patriarchy of pathetic turds like Mattera.

This is a perfectly fitting comment from a party who thinks look-like-a-librarian Sarah Palin, who actually prefers book burning is hot. I actually think Rachel Maddow is quite attractive, not in a fake beauty queen way, but in a real girl next door way. She wears her hair short so this jerk claims she looks like a dude, but he probably digs "Adams Apple Annie" Coulter. Furthermore, Rachel's brain's and personality are her biggest attractions. Having a conversation with a nice looking, humorous, friendly woman like Rachel instead of a bleached, botoxed, bimbo bi+ch is my preference any day of the week. The righties can keep the nasty Malkin (& Coulter), we'll gladly keep always polite Rachel.
