I totally agree with the first poster.

Also, putting Sam Seder on a prime time spot, or any spot for that matter, on America Radio would one dumb move. The man can't complete a thought and is very irritating to listen to. I don't care how intelligent he might be, his radio spots are equal to waterboarding, in my opinion. Sign the Petition to give him a spot? You must be kidding!

Alternet, you are sinking to a new low with material like this. I used to think much better of alternet, but some of the material now being put online here is just like your site is wandering lost, or something? Get with it. This sort of stuff is not hip at all, but just pathetic.

Actually, this was pretty good. Rough around the edges, but interesting. And his facts are spot on. His delivery perhaps some of you don't like, just as you and I might prefer different singers or actors.

A throw-away piece, but fun while it lasted ....

It's about time someone brings attention to the epidemic of obesity caused mainly by "fast food" (which isn't actually food at all) in the children of this country. I also think candy, freely handed out in fistfuls at Halloween and Easter, are making this a nation of diabetics and alcoholics.

Someone above whined about "making fun of fat people", sorry pal, it's a huge target, and it's not pretty. I once saw an obese woman wearing pink tights and a t-shirt, on second thought I'll spare you...

People have forgotten that the purpose of eating is to nourish us and give us energy for the daunting task of living healthy lives, mentally, physically and spiritually in community with each other. We all inhabit the "zero point field" and have a responsibility to keep our little corners healthy. Looks like the whole place could use a good sweeping.

These days everyone wants MORE MORE MORE. More money, toys, power, food... It's an unsustainable equation in light of the burgeoning population that keeps increasing exponentially.

I used to live in a national park and one year there was a huge increase in the raccoon population. They had learned how to dumpster-dive and had increased their numbers with lots of junk food. In a couple of years they had all but disappeared. My theory is that they became overweight and unable to escape their predators (mountain lions, coyotes and bobcats) and also died off from disease borne of eating a diet devoid of nutrition.

"Just enough" is a spiritual concept that the human race would do well to adopt in all areas of life.

And let's not forget: "You are what you eat".

Obesity is not always the fat persons fault

I reiterate, "you are what you eat" But the choices we have is very slim, as the food industry has added to our food many fat causing chemicals and don't even have to put it on the labels of the product. Here are a few of them
High fructose corn syrup
MSG= mono sodium glutamate
hydrogenated vegetable oil
Aspartame
All these chemicals are saturated in the food supply of this obese country. Your choice of food intake is the problem and the only way to stop it is to eat organic and never eat packaged and processed foods.There are great natural products available now to correct your cell metabolism so it will give every cell in your body the energy it requires to become healthy and stay healthy.
