GOP Rep: 9/11 Was 'Simply' a Plane Crash

Posted by Richard Blair, The All Spin Zone at 1:03 PM on April 3, 2008.

Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) has created a bit of a firestorm with his remarks this past Tuesday on establishing a healthcare fund for 9/11 workers.

As a frequent guest on Bill Maher’s show, Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Ca) is no stranger to putting his foot in his mouth. Generally, that’s quite alright for Issa, because his targets are mostly liberals, progressives, and pro-immigration conservatives. The other day, though, he created a bit of a firestorm when, during a committee hearing that was considering creating new funding for treatment of 9/11 workers, Issa said:

“I have to ask, why damages from a fire that had no dirty bomb in it, it had no chemical munitions in it, it simply was an aircraft, residue of two aircraft, and residue from the materials used to build this building, why the firefighters who went there and everybody in the City of New York needs to come to the federal government for the dollars versus this being primarily a state consideration.” …

Needless to say, Issa’s words haven’t exactly gone over well in the New York press. The NY Daily News editorialized yesterday:

Darrell Issa failed to apologize for expressing in the House of Representatives sentiments that nearly fit the yahoo brigade of 9/11 revisionists, minimizers and deniers.
What Issa said Tuesday was callous in the extreme…

The fallout from Issa’s remarks continues today, with Rep. Peter King (R-AsBadAsIssa) remarking:

“New York was attacked by Al Qaeda. It doesn’t have to be attacked by Congress,” added Long Island Rep. Pete King, a Republican.
“I’m really surprised by Darrell Issa,” King added. “It showed such a cavalier dismissal of what happened to New York. It’s wrong and inexcusable.” …

Remember Michael Moore’s movie, Sicko, and how Moore took ground zero workers to Cuba for treatment, because they couldn’t get treatment at home? Perhaps Rep. Issa might wish to recall his stance with Democratic Rep. John Conyers after Moore’s appearance on Capitol Hill last year.

Digg!

As memory serves, it was Issa who lead the charge to recall Grey Davis which led to the 61 candidates running for Governor of California. A truly grotesque sight, not for the who chose to run, but how the media refused to look at more than one or two candidates that it had pre-chosen to win, especially the Governator, while ignoring the other 50+ candidates.

This latest comment is not surprising. Is is just another case of California not wanting to pay for what doesn't happen in California. Or is it Issa's personal code of whackiness?

What's remarkable is that the EPA sampling originally found "no significant problems" on a line-by-line basis:
www.epa.gov/WTC/summaries/epa-osha02.htm

However, when an independent UC-Davis team looked into samples collected by the Department of Energy, they found something different:
Masses of very fine particles emitted from ground zero

"No one has ever reported a situation like the one we see in the World Trade Center samples," said UC Davis researcher Thomas Cahill, Ph.D., an international authority on the constituents and transport of airborne particles.

"The air from Ground Zero was laden with extremely high amounts of very small particles, probably associated with high temperatures in the underground debris pile. Normally, in New York City and in most of the world, situations like this just don't exist.". . .

The DELTA Group has made detailed studies of aerosols from the 1991 Gulf War oil fires, volcanic eruptions, global dust storms, and most recently Asia.

The Manhattan air samples were collected at the request of a U.S. Department of Energy scientist from October 2 through mid-December, by a DELTA Group air monitor placed on a rooftop at 201 Varick Street, one mile north-northeast of the World Trade Center complex. The results presented today are from samples collected October 2 through 31. . .

"Even on the worst air days in Beijing, downwind from coal fired power plants, or in the Kuwaiti oil fires, we did not see these levels of very fine particulates," Cahill said. The amounts of very fine particles, particularly very fine silicon, decreased sharply during the month of October.

Gee, and as noted above, just the pulverized dust, concrete, etc. is enough to cause serious health issues. Not to mention the asbestos, metals and other chemicals present in all the building materials and office furnishings that burned. These guys follow the party line so closely they've completely forgotten how to engage their brains. What an embarrassment he is...sadly, he's from my state. I hope he gets a ton of flack for his ignorant comments. Ass.

Former Governor Jesse Ventura: WTC Collapse A Controlled Demolition
Navy veteran and movie star savages official story, says media covering up truth about attacks

Paul Joseph Watson
Prison Planet
Wednesday, April 2, 2008

Former Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura vehemently savaged the official 9/11 story on a syndicated national radio show today, saying the WTC collapsed like a controlled demolition and was pulverized to dust as he also highlighted the impossible 10 second free fall speed of the towers.

Appearing on The Alex Jones Show, Ventura said that his initial reaction to 9/11 was much like most people at the time, and he accepted the official story outright, a response he now regrets because he was in a position of power and could have used it to raise a lot of pointed questions.

"I kicked myself when it initially happened that the light didn't go off but I was so shocked that this thing had even taken place that I apologize for not being more aware," said Ventura, adding that watching Loose Change at the insistence of his son was part of the catalyst for his wake up call.

"To me questions haven't been answered and are not being answered about 9/11," said Ventura, before highlighting the collapse of Building 7, a 47-story tall skyscraper that was not hit by a plane but collapsed in its own footprint in the late afternoon of September 11.

Story continues here.

Should a fireman who suffers lung disease from caustic substances inhaled fighting the fires of 9/11 be treated better than a fireman who suffers lung disease from fighting a tire warehouse fire in New Jersey?

"Yes but the 9/11 worker 'deserves' better care because he contracted his illness on that hallowed ground." What?

The plight of these people is certainly appalling. But the source of the problem is not lack of consideration for this single event. It is due to the horrible health care situation in this country, and the lack of adequate safety nets for those whose income potential is limited by illness.

Unless I missed it in some of the previous comments, one item missing from the particle discussion is all the organic "stuff". You know, like all the bodies ground to dust, the sewage in the pipes, food, and so on.

In a way, the attack on the WTC and its collapse, fits the bill (loosely)for a number of warefare types. The planes did conventional damage (structual), were an incendiary devices, and the resulting collapse and dust cloud injucted chemically and organically hazardous materials into the environment.

It is still amazing to hear from people who get elected to high office make such ill informed and stupid statements.

All I can say is I'm glad this uninformed tiny little jerk belongs to the Rebublicans. If he is too stupid to know the basics about ground zero and the actual heroric first responders maybe somebody should slap him upside his pinhead.

First Responders, Manhatten, et al

Issa must have been elected on the same wave of "Compassionate Christians that brought us our beloved George W. Bush. He has that same love for humanity that Mr. G.W. Bush exhibits.

In the Province of Manitoba, CANADA, our Labor Code has written in that a worker has the right to refuse work that they believe to be dangerous or hazardous to their health. If an employer attempts to intimidate an employee with punishment for refusal of duty, he will be fined by the Labor Board when the employee brings it to their attention. And in this Province, on Labor Day and throughout the year, advertisements are run to promote safety and let workers know of this right.

Do any of the states have this form of worker protection?

If the workers on site at the World Trade Center Towers were willing to take on the hazards of falling materials and the usual difficulties of such a site because they had been assured by Christie Todd-Whitman of the EPA that the Air Quality was fine, they have more than the right to free medical. They have the right to one big class action suit against a government that committed mass murder--->slowly and with induced suffering.

Not only did they do this to the First Responders but they also committed this crime upon all the citizens and workers of Manhattan and those who fell within the hazard zone of air quality.

I hope, that to prove their points, each and everyone affected by the health repercussions of the Bush Administrations LIES sends their medical files, effects upon the family, and unfortunately, death notices to the EPA and POTUS.

I also want these affected populations, First Responders, Workers and those that lived in the area affected by this toxic morass of contaminated air and debris to send their accumulated medical costs to Mr. G.W. Bush's office, the Oval One he is so fond of abandoning to play "goat roper" on a "ranch" in Texas.

Those costs include the counselling needed for spouses and children who watch loved ones suffer, worry about their futures, are treated for depression and stress related health disorders and disease, and the additional costs to the community as these vital people are lost from the pool of friends as well as volunteers and the friends that could be called upon to lend a hand at the last minute.

The Trillion Dollar Ghost Bugle Call heard from Iraq, just went beyond redemption and repayment, as it's costs have neglected 10's of thousands of lives Globally who came to the assitance of the United States of America, the individuals, their families and their communities.

In law, if you are shot and the 20 years later you die as a result of the gunshot (i.e. it caused you to be paralyzed which eventually lead to pneumonia which killed you) it is at the discretion of the District Attorney as to press Murder Charges.

I believe that the Bush Regime will be known for its Killing Fields of Manhatten.

That is just.

Explain to the family members of the people on THE TWO PLANES you discount, where there family members are?

I am sure Ted Olson, who's wife Barbara Olson (a frequent guest on Politically Incorrect and favorite of Bill Maher) died on the plane that crashed in to the Pentagon.

Barb had postponed an earlier flight, to California, in order to celebrate "Teddy's" 61st Birthday (September 11).

So, maybe you can tell us all and then we can tell Teddy (as Barb referred to him and others) and he can have his beloved Barbara back. But. . .

Of course there is more to Ted's Story and the stories of all those who had someone die on those planes that hit the Pentagon and crashed in Pennsylvania. You'll have some explaining to do to Teddy and all those who's lives went forward. . .
