Obama's Prime Time TV Segment: 'Worth the Buzz'

Posted by Attaturk, Firedoglake at 3:16 AM on October 30, 2008.

'Obama has developed a great bedside, as well as fireside, manner.'

The Obama 30-minute commercial, deserved its buzz - here's Tom Shales:

Although McCain was not seen during the half-hour, one could easily summon the contrasting image of the Republican while watching Obama. McCain has come across on television as relatively worried, whiny, fusty and falsely folksy. He brought bad news; he has come to epitomize and personify it. Obama brings you medication along with the list of symptoms; he has developed a great bedside, as well as fireside, manner.

Ouch. I guess America isn't ready for a ICU visit from Dr. Krauthammer.

But fear not, John McCain, David Broder still hopes to share a Werther's Original and a loving, short-armed embrace:

The campaign has been costly in terms of McCain's reputation. He has been condemned for small-minded partisanship, not praised for his generous and important suggestion that the major-party candidates stump the country together, conducting weekly joint town hall meetings -- an innovation Obama turned down.

Because nothing is more mavericky than wanting to have your ass-kicked by your much younger, yet more mature opponent, ten times instead of three.

That's sado-masochism you can believe in, my friends ... well, that and Matlock.

Digg!

Or Just my own personal situation..but I was Verclemped and teary during the program.
Most notably when they showed a clip from a Speech in which he discussed How we all are Immigrants or descendants of Immigrants. How they struggled not for themselves but for those of US who were to follow. How we hope that Our children are able to achieve even more. chokes me up still...Hormones or Reverence?Or perhaps the Fear/realization our kids will most likely be the First generation to do worse than Us.
Frankly those who claim they are still 'Undecided' are either lying out of embarassment of their Racist attitudes,Or have no real interest to begin with and will not vote anyway. If they claim the don't know enough about Obama, Then they are again either Lying or just Lazy (turn on a TV, Use 'the Google', Read a paper). If they don't Know about Sen Obama, perhaps we should also inform them the Stockmarket has taken a Shit, We're in Two Wars (heading for another 2-3 on top)...and the World is NOT Flat TOO!
Actually the more I hear About McCain the more I realize I have NO fucking idea who this man is. And his camapign staffers cause me more concern everytime the yank one out from behind the McCain curtain. The man in '00 was a fraud, infact the Real John McCain has Reared his True Ugly head since '00 and He scares the Shit out of Me- as much as Cheney!
So yes Bill, Americans are demanding we get the chance to 'roll the dice' just as we had when You were elected.

It was an embarrassment - Obama has turned this election into a B movie. It has little to do with discussing issues than it does with appearance, clothes Greek columns and a VP known for wonderful gaffs.

One only needed to watch that spectacle to understand why our nation is in the trouble it is in!

We are more concerned with appearance than substance.

Next I suspect the Obama reality show.
