Lauren Gazzola is CCR’s Communications Associate for Publications. Lauren originally came to CCR as a client when she was a defendant in U.S. v. SHAC 7 (U.S. v. Fullmer), as a result of her work with Stop Huntingdon Animal Cruelty (SHAC). SHAC is an international, grassroots animal rights campaign dedicated to exposing and ending vivisection at the notorious animal testing laboratory, Huntingdon Life Sciences. Convicted under the controversial Animal Enterprise Protection Act, Lauren served 40 months in federal prison for her work on the SHAC campaign. Lauren is once again a CCR client, appearing as a plaintiff in Blum v. Holder, CCR’s First Amendment challenge to the amended (and renamed) Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act (AETA).
