In the Eye of the Beholder?: Eyelid Surgery and Young Asian-American Women

Some people believe that the eyes are the most expressive part of the body. But Asian American young women, many of whom are born without "double eye-lids" are now faced with an increasing pressure to change that expression to fit non-Asian beauty standards. Is this minor form of plastic surgery just a cosmetic boost or yet another product of a harmful, racist culture?
