Greenwashing -- the corporate tactic of hiding destructive environmental records behind eco-friendly rhetoric and ad campaigns -- has reached absurd proportions. To recognize and expose greenwash, Earth Day 2000, the Los Angeles-based organization, recently released their annual Don't Be Fooled Awards -- a top ten list of the worst greenwashing companies of the past year.

For the first time in human history there are as many overweight people in the world as underweight people, says a new World Watch Institute study. Though the two may seem exact opposites, both hunger and obesity are the result of the same problem: malnutrition, a deficiency or excess of the nutrients necessary for a healthy life. As the study starkly illustrates, both forms of malnutrition have severe social, political and economic repercussions.
